Awesome! Coverage from King 5!

Well, this is very cool.

King 5 came out to see us on this very rainy Sunday and talked to our neighbors Tavish Donahue and Beverly Gibson. Anyone who has talked to Beverly knows she's quite the raconteur, and she definitely gave the reporter an earful:

All tenants will now have six months to relocate so the property can undergo extensive renovations, including new amenities like granite top counters, two new fitness centers and a yoga studio.
“That’s sick, it’s ridiculous,” said Beverly Gibson, who’s lived at the complex since 2008.
Kudos to Tavish and Beverly for speaking up for all of us. Nice going!

Unfortunately, the story fails to mention the Lockhaven Tenants Union by name, but I've written to the reporter to tell him about us, thank him for his excellent work, and urge him to stay on the story, as it's part of a much larger story about what kind of city we're becoming, and what we're allowing developers to get away with.

If you missed the segment, you can see it here.

Onward!

  1. Does anyone know the names of the actual new owners? They should be exposed. The management co is just doing what they want.

  3. Yeah, a yoga studio. There are businesses in the front of these units, any one can be a yoga studio. In addition, all the notices, rescinding notices, 20 days, 90 days, 6 months....Pinnacle must be at their first rodeo. How nefarious and unprofessional.

  7. I was told by Dolcie O'Sullivan at the DPD that those that qualify for the relocation payment are probably looking at 60 days to receive their benefits. I was told by the Lock Haven office that after this initial 30 period to sign the relocation packet they will legally be able to give all tenants a 90 day notice of their intentions to move people out. After this 90 day period they can give anyone a 20 day notice. Looks to me like they are starting the move out process from the very east "Yellow Buildings" and heading west towards the "Brick Buildings".

I was also told not to take any move out incentive from pinnacle as it might void any relocation benefits you qualify for.

Unfortunately I have seen this happen in other buildings around the city and eventually the owners will get what they want. You can make it a bit painful and publicly humiliating for them but believe me Mr. Goodman and his crew could care less...I will keep my own opinions of these individuals to myself...Karma has a way of coming back to kick you in the teeth.

But, Please, Please, Please....if you qualify for the relocation benefits don't wait to get your packet in. Make sure you are taken care of. Mine will be in very shortly.

This is a very sad situation and I wonder how Earl and Denise (Old Owners) feel as they watch this unfold?

I only hope for the best for all Lock Haven Tenants.

    Signed...an 9 year Tenant
